At Get Stowed, we’ve recently welcomed Nicola to the team to support our customers. If you make an order with us, you’re likely to be in contact with Nicola, so we thought you might like to meet her!
What do you do at Get Stowed?
In a nutshell, I look after the customers and enquiries from beginning to end, supporting them from the design stage right through to the eventual fitting or delivery. I’ll be the person who sends out your initial quotation, and I’ll be in touch by phone and email throughout the process, doing my utmost to get all the correct information from the customer to the design team.
I enjoy the challenge of bespoke designs, sometimes being a bit of a detective working out exactly what is required from a sketch or a description! I have learned such a lot in the time that I’ve been here, I now catch myself vehicle spotting when I’m out and about!
What do you enjoy most about your role?
Helping people. Helping customers with their enquiries and to get a product that they are happy with, working with the team to make sure all the correct information is in place so they can produce a good quality item to send out to the customers. Hearing positive feedback about the products we’ve sent out and installed is a real highlight.
What did you do before this?
I’ve been at home for 6 months, project managing a large house renovation! Dealing with lots of different tradespeople has really helped in this role as it’s given me a good understanding of tradespeoples’ day to day life. It’s also made me very good at making coffee!
Before that I’ve done various different roles; I started working life as a qualified nursery nurse, raised my family and then went into administration within the security and catering industries. It’s given me a wealth of experience in different areas. I also spent some time as a courier, which could be quite eventful!
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, walking our two dogs in our beautiful countryside. I also really enjoy travel and exploring new places. Mainly spending time with friends and family. I love sewing and creating delicious cakes (that go down very well in the office!).
What’s top of your bucket list?
I have lots of things on my bucket list and they all involve travel! I don’t know why, but I’d love to go to Canada. I’ve travelled all over the world but Canada is top of my list. I’d also like to go back to New Zealand to visit one of my oldest friends, and a campervan trip across America is definitely on the hitlist.
If I ever got the chance, racing a car round the Top Gear track, creating a masterpiece on The Great British Sewing Bee or making a showstopper on Bake Off would be right up my street.
If you’d like to give Nicola a detective challenge to create a showstopper of a storage unit for your vehicle, you can get in touch with her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
